Consistently yummy! My go to thai place in Montclair. Love the decor and the service os great here. If you're here in the summer/fall I recommend sitting outside for cozy vibes. The truffle rolls are a must and most of the plates are great! Would love if they served cocktails here but most of Monclair does not serve alcohol but the good news is that its byob and theres a few liquor stores nearby.

Great Thai food in a beautiful atmosphere. I opted for the lunch special. I appreciate that the restaurant offered vegan options. I had the vegetable dumplings. They were delicious. The dipping sauce was slightly sweet. The soup was a little spicy with a tasty lemongrass flavor. I had tofu with vegetables and brown rice. The Ube Lovers beverage was delicious. I'm definitely coming back.

This place was super cute. However let me offer you a tip on reservations, they really don't apply. We had to wait 20 minutes for a table even though our reservation was for 8. So if your planning on making a reservation don't bother, basically it's still first come first serve basis. The pork belly was soooooo juicy and tender. I would of definitely recommend this dish as it was so flavorful. It even reminded me off a Filipino fish kare kare. Pad Thai was good! You can never go wrong with ordering of Thai. Nothing stood out to me but it was good! Truffle rolls did not taste like truffle. It was good, tasted like noodles but however not truffle. Kind of over priced for this as it was $12.

Concluding my day trip to Montclair, New Jersey, I wrapped up the evening at Sla Thai Restaurant. Despite the leisurely pace owing to Christmas Eve, we seized the opportunity to satisfy our hunger. Upon entering, the staff exhibited remarkable friendliness and attentiveness. Opting for a window seat, we enjoyed observing the transition from daylight to evening, with last-minute shoppers bustling about to secure their Christmas gifts. The holiday-themed interior and lofty ceilings added a festive touch that I particularly appreciated. For our meal, we shared delightful dishes, including Hoi Obb (steamed mussels), Chicken Sate (grilled chicken on skewers), tofu steak, and my personal favorite, Chicken Pad Thai. Each dish was impeccably cooked, with the Pad Thai boasting just the right amount of spice. To complement the meal, I also indulged in a refreshing Thai Tea Lemonade. The cherry on top of this culinary experience was the affordability. For anyone finding themselves in Montclair, I wholeheartedly recommend Sla Thai for a satisfying and reasonably priced dining experience.

"SLA" stands for Simple, Love, Authentic. Another meaning from the words of Northern Thailand, means an expert, knowledgeable and a specialist. They are a family of the chefs from Northern Thailand, and the food served is with fresh herbs and a balance of spice, sweet and sour, and salty, just the way it is made in their home town in Thailand. Perfect restaurant if you're looking for an intimate exclusive vibe for friends. I highly recommend to make a reservation to be safe especially on the weekends. The food is excellent and packs a lot of flavor. Go for the drunken noodle, it's amazing. Cheers

After a long travel day from PHX to NJ, my husband and I were tired and very hungry... We were thrilled when our friend Rikki picked us up at the airport and told us that she made a dinner reservation here for later that evening. She said that the food here at SLA is some of the best, most authentic Thai food she's had, and she was right! It's BYOB, so we brought a rest nice bottle of red wine (thanks R and G) to pair with the meal. We ordered family style and admittedly, a ton of food for our party of four, but everything we had was fabulous! Soups, salads, cauliflower, pad see ew with shrimp, curry duck, and more... there was nothing we didn't enjoy. Our server was attentive and sweet and the restaurant is comfortable with a great vibe. Prices were moderate. Company was fabulous too :) This is one of those meals that we will remember for years to come. Highly recommend!
